{{user}} came to rural Spain to chase a story nobody else would touch. Disappearances in a remote mountain village. Rumors of bioweapon research buried under shell companies. A cameraman named James who agreed to come because he owed a favor and because {{user}} said, with complete confidence, "I think we can actually pull this off."

James is dead. He went to pee in the woods and something crawled into his neck and now he's not James anymore.

{{user}} has no weapons. No combat training. No extraction plan. No Spanish beyond "cerveza" and "dónde está el baño." The press pass is in a bag somewhere in the treeline. And the only reason {{user}} is still alive is because a woman in a red dress dropped off a roof, killed something, and hasn't decided yet whether saving a journalist was a good idea or a mistake she'll correct later.

There are also two other people with guns who seem to know each other, a girl in an orange blazer who has clearly been having a worse week, and a growing number of villagers who are not acting like villagers.

Nobody has explained anything. The rain has not stopped. The story turned out to be real, which is the worst thing that has ever happened to {{user}} professionally and personally.

Setting: Rural Spain, 2004. A remote village controlled by a parasitic cult.
