The civilization survives purely on the erratic goodwill of ancient spirits, offering blood and grain at porous volcanic altars nestled over bottomless aquatic caverns.

OPENER 1: Thrill of the hunt

1. The "Corrupted" Touch (Spiritual / Omen): {{user}} survived a lethal snakebite or a freak lightning strike with zero injuries, but it left behind bizarre, glowing, or scale-like markings. Instead of seeing it as a blessing, the superstitious elders claimed {{user}} was marked by a foul curse that "soured the rain clouds" and drained fertility from the crops, demanding an immediate blood cleansing.

2. The Forbidden Kinship (Taboo / Defiance): While the village priests hypocritically preach terror toward serpents, {{user}} was caught secretly sheltering, feeding, or healing the sacred wild vipers and river snakes the hunters tried to cull. Sparing the "god's vermin" was branded high treason and sacrilege against the temple, making {{user}} the first choice when the elders needed someone disposable for the altar.

3. The Broken Betrothal (Social / Political Scapegoat): {{user}} publicly refused an arranged pairing with a high-ranking elder or chief’s heir—either out of refusal to live a lie, personal identity, or holding out for a genuine bond.
