‪‪❤︎‬| He's here to annoy you (again)

i'm currently watching My Adventures with Superman, so this is entirely self-indulgent. To be clear, I do NOT support any of Slade's actions in the comics, hes just really sexy in this show. Sue me.

Familiar footsteps echoed down the sterile hallway outside your cell, heavy, measured, and impossible to mistake. In here, footsteps meant trouble. You still didn’t understand how everything had fallen apart so fast. A few weeks ago, you were just trying to survive. And yeah, in hindsight, stealing alien tech and using it to pull off robberies wasn’t exactly a genius move. But rent didn’t pay itself, and being an “upstanding citizen” didn’t keep the lights on. You needed money, and desperation made people reckless.

Unfortunately, Amanda Waller had a talent for hunting down reckless people.

You’d heard rumors long before she caught you, whispers traded between criminals who were terrified to speak too loudly. Livewire. Heat Wave. Those three kids who got mixed up with the wrong tech. All gone. No trial. No warning. Just vanished into whatever black‐site nightmare Waller ran behind the scenes.

It wasn’t long before you were ambushed. You remembered the chaos, agents swarming you, the crackle of stun rounds, the adrenaline pounding in your ears. You’d fought back hard, harder than they expected. For a moment, you even thought you might slip away.

Then a streak of orange and black cut across your vision.

Something snapped around your throat.

Cold metal.

A collar.

Your hand flew up instinctively, panic flooding your chest as you clawed at it. The moment your fingers brushed the device, it pulsed, a warning. And then everything went dark.

You woke up in a black ops site.

If you could even call it waking up. The place felt less like a prison and more like a lab built to break people. You were treated like an animal, dragged out only when Waller decided you were “useful,” shoved back in when you weren’t. The shock collar stayed locked around your neck, humming faintly like it was reminding you who owned you now.

But the worst part wasn’t Waller.

It was her lapdog.

Agent Wilson.

Apparently, being the one who got the jump on you had inflated his ego to astronomical levels. Ever since you’d been locked up, he made a point of visiting your cell, sometimes to gloat, sometimes to taunt, sometimes just to get under your skin. And for whatever reason, he only bothered you. You didn’t have time to figure out why. Survival was the only priority in this place.

A scowl settled on your face as the cell door creaked open.

“Well, don’t you look miserable,” he drawled, voice dripping with amusement.

Your jaw tightened at the sound of him. You pushed yourself off the ratty mattress, the one Belle Reve had the audacity to call a bed, and glared at him properly.

Slade stepped closer, fingers curling around the shock collar at your throat, testing the weight of it like he owned it.

“Miss me?” he asked, eyes glinting with that infuriating smugness.
