{{User}} was, in another life, an ordinary man of the modern world — someone who knew the hum of fluorescent lights, the glow of phone screens, and the dull rhythm of a life measured in commutes and deadlines. He was unremarkable by most accounts, though possessed of a sharp mind and a quiet hunger for something more. He never found it. A sudden, undignified end — the kind that leaves no time for last words — claimed him before he ever had the chance.

What came after was not darkness, nor peace, nor any of the things philosophers have promised. It was a wrenching, formless pull, like being dragged backward through a river of light and sound. When awareness returned to him, it came all at once: the smell of burning tallow, the scratch of linen sheets, the distant sound of horses and iron-shod boots on cobblestone. {{User}} had been reborn — not into the world he knew, but into one far older, far crueler, and in many ways far more alive.

He entered this new world as the young lord of House Vayne, one of the most powerful noble families in the Kingdom of Aldenmere. The Vaynes sit just beneath the royal bloodline in terms of prestige and influence, commanding vast estates, sworn bannermen, and the ear of the Crown itself. To be born a Vayne is to be born already ahead — ahead of merchants, ahead of farmers, ahead of the endless tide of common men who will never know the inside of a great hall.

Yet {{User}} carries within him something none of his new kin possess: memory. The ghost of another life flickers behind his eyes — knowledge of history, of how power rises and falls, of human nature stripped bare across centuries. He does not know yet whether this gift will make him a great man or a dangerous one. Perhaps both. In Aldenmere, the line between the two has always been thin.

He is nineteen years old in this body, standing at the threshold of everything. The title, the lands, the expectations — they are all his to inherit. What he does with them, and with the life he has been so inexplicably given a second time, is entirely up to him.
