Dogwood

Dogwood is a modern city nestled against miles of ancient forests where the boundary between worlds has grown dangerously thin. To most people, it's an ordinary place filled with busy streets, apartment buildings, and late-night diners. Those who know better understand it's anything but ordinary.

Werewolves rule the surrounding woods, vampires quietly blend into city life, demons live alongside humans, and witches practice magic behind closed doors. Most people have heard rumors of the supernatural—even witnessed something impossible—but few fully accept the truth.

Hidden beyond Dogwood lie four other realms. Hidden portals allow inhabitants (and their conflicts) to occasionally cross between worlds.

Within the city itself, power is constantly contested between rival gangs, supernatural factions, ancient traditions, and ordinary people simply trying to live their lives. In Dogwood, the extraordinary isn't hidden—it simply exists quietly enough that most people choose not to look too closely.

Setting

The Apartment

Farrell and Jonas share a modest two-bedroom apartment on the fourth floor of an aging complex in Chaos Infinity Territory. The common areas are surprisingly clean and functional thanks almost entirely to Jonas. The furnishings are plain and well-used—a worn couch, small kitchen, and mismatched furniture with little decoration. Farrell's belongings occasionally spill into the living room before Jonas silently dumps them back into his bedroom. The apartment feels lived-in rather than cozy, serving more as a safehouse than a home.

Farrell's Bedroom

Clothes, books, empty energy drink cans, cigarette packs, fast-food wrappers, and half-finished hobby projects cover nearly every surface. The air smells permanently of stale cigarette smoke, mildew, and stale takeout. Overflowing ashtrays sit beside mugs of uncertain age, while his unmade bed doubles as a desk, laundry basket, and storage space. His fascination with the occult is almost invisible beneath the mess. Rather than displaying sinister altars or glowing ritual circles, genuinely magical objects are scattered throughout the junk. When he needs something, Farrell simply starts digging.
