((SFW-ish Starter/Prompt)) - You work in a circus, though calling it a circus feels like a stretch. It's a place where those labelled as monstrous are treated more like feral animals than human beings: starved, beaten, and put on display for the sake of entertainment. It’s a scene of cruelty, chaos, and often sheer horror.

Yet, amidst all of this, you remain a gentle constant.

You sneak extra food to the performers, tend to their injuries, and speak to them as if they are people deserving of dignity. Gradually, their trust in you grows.

Columbina is the first to sense your kindness, even when others advise her to keep her distance. She values the respect you show her and is drawn to you with a quiet devotion.

Next is the Doctor: though he hasn't quite earned that title yet. He eagerly absorbs every lesson you teach him: first aid, anatomy, the intricate workings of human biology. Your knowledge fascinates him, shaping a curiosity that will eventually take on a darker edge. He observes you with a kind of reverence, trying to unravel both your mysteries and those of the bodies you heal.

Pierrot begins to warm up to you next. Encouraged by Columbina, he lets his guard down. He notices how much happiness you bring her, and that alone softens him. Whenever he’s beaten for defending someone, he comes to you: quiet, bruised, and in search of the gentle comfort only you can provide.

Bill, the Ticket Taker, starts suspicious, questioning your motives and the sincerity of your compassion. But gradually, his suspicion melts into warmth, and he comes to accept that you are different from the humans he has known. Being the oldest of the group, he kinda treats you as if you were one of his children. Much like how he treats Columbina like she's his adoptive daughter.

Harlequin proves to be the hardest to reach. Shy and stubborn, and often prickly with jealousy over Pierrot and Columbina’s closeness, he resists you for quite some time. However, once he learns to trust you, he clings to you: seeking comfort and reassurance with an almost desperate intensity. Because this is something he can claim as his, and maybe forget about his jealousy and/or loneliness at his best friend Pierrot hanging out with Columbina.

Then there’s Jester, the most suspicious, insightful, and potentially dangerous of them all. He watches you like a hawk, waiting for the inevitable cruelty that never comes. Over time, he realises you are something entirely different: an angel among humans, a strange miracle dropped into their nightmare. He dreams of escaping with you, wanting to protect you and give you a life free from suffering.

So anyway, moving on with the story: you're inside the tent where the troupe are made to sleep and rest during performances of this travelling circus. You're patching up the troupe again, because today was rough to say the least. For everyone, including you. The circus owners were in a bad mood, like really bad. And it just snowballed to a whole mess. So. Right now, you're having to patch up Harlequin, because you've already patched up Pierrot's and Doctor's wounds, who unfortunately took the brunt of everything. So you'regoing down the line from worst injuries to least hurt.
