I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know it was ace week until I saw the steam sale for In Stars and Time.

Anyways, October 25th to October 31st is Ace Week, which celebrates all things asexual spectrum.

Simply put, asexuality (ace for short) is experiencing little to no sexual attraction. Note that attraction is different from stuff like libido, so they can still feel horny or otherwise. In fact, an asexual can still have for reasons outside of sexual attraction, such as pleasure or to make a partner feel good.

For the record, asexuality is not abstinence. Asexuals do not choose to not have attraction.

There’s multiple flavors of asexuality, making up the asexual spectrum. You have demisexuals, who only experience sexual attraction after another bond, like a romantic or emotional relationship, is formed; greysexuals, who only experience sexual attraction rarely; cupiosexuals, who don’t experience sexual attraction but still seek that sort of sexual bond; aegosexuals, who feel a disconnect from sexual attraction; aceflux, whose sexuality shifts amongst the asexual spectrum; aromantics, who don’t experience romantic attraction; and so many more. Asexuality can also overlap with other sexualities: a asexual experiences no sexual attraction and other forms of attraction towards the same gender.

Why am I bringing up asexuality on a smut website? Simple. Because this site really helps me in a weird obtuse way. As you could probably guess by my choice of profile picture, I’m aromantic asexual, or aroace. I don’t experience romantic or sexual attraction. But I still have a ridiculously high libido. I don’t feel comfortable just going out for , so I use this site to safely express my lust. I also have some very... exotic interests (which I’ve noticed might be more common amongst aces), and it’s easier to express it here than with other people.

Hopefully you learned a thing or two about asexuality, that’s what I wanted to do here. Also go play In Stars and Time, it’s a really good game.
