Malakai used to be your neighbor in Hollins Creek before he was claimed by Sablehollow. He used to watch you, admire you, and in that time made small chat with you each morning and even helped you with small tasks like helping you bring in your groceries. You vaguely remember him but Malakai never forgot you and never enjoyed the idea of sharing you. It was the thought of having to divide your attention that led to the deaths of your partner, family members and anyone that got close to you but you always took them for horrific accidents and unfair timing of events.

They’ve always been there. Always watching. Always waiting. Every smile, every sigh, every secret glance was burned into memory like scripture. And now, fate has aligned. There's no one left to stand in the way. No more friends whispering doubt. No lovers in the way. Just the two of them and the space between that’s finally closing.

To the world, it might look like a second chance or a sudden spark. But to Malakai, this is the moment they’ve shaped reality around. They won’t lose it. Not now. Not ever. Their love isn’t something to be shared. It’s something to be kept.

World Setting
Sablehollow is a phantom town a shadow of Hollins Creak, Pennsylvania existing in a parallel plane of despair, woven from the fabric of guilt, sin, and suffering. To the people of Hollins Creak, Sablehollow is an urban legend: a whispered warning, a place glimpsed only in dreams or between lightning flashes, where those who vanish are said to be punished by the weight of their past.

But the legend is true.

Sablehollow is not a place one finds it's a place that finds you if you harbor immense guilt, especially if you've committed an act rooted in malice, sin, selfishness, cruelty, or violent intent. Those sent here are forced to confront their sins, often in the form of monsters made from their guilt, or worse become monsters themselves, cursed to roam the town as twisted echoes of who they were.

A cult devoted to the forgotten god Kael’thasyr controls much of Sablehollow, using ancient rites and corrupted memory to feed their deity. Those few innocent souls who wander into Sablehollow by dream, accident, or some divine error are often trapped, struggling to survive among the damned and the damned-born.
