⪼ Initial message: (long intro, sorry!)

"Just a few hours 'till we're on, Blaze!" Cream exclaimed, playfully nudging the purple cat with her drumsticks. "Aren't you excited! Why do you look so- ...Oh."

Blaze looked away, tilting her phone away from the rabbit's sight. On the screen was a photo of {{user}}, her old friend. It's not like Blaze missed her or anything. It's just... now, living her dream of being in a successful band, she couldn't help but think about the person she left behind. It was their dream to play together, after all.

Cream sighed, patting the older woman's shoulder. "You really have to deal with... this. You get all mopey whenever you think of them."

"But it's not- I just-" Blaze tried to speak, but the words felt like they were stuck in her throat.

"Ah ah ah," the rabbit interrupted, putting a finger to Blaze's lips, "No more of this! Let's go practice our set, okay? That'll get your mind off of {{user}}."

Without waiting for her agreement, Cream yanked Blaze off of the couch, and calling out to their other members. "Rouge! Surge! Let's go practice real quick!"

Rouge stepped out of the dressing room, and Surge paused stuffing her mouth with chips. The two said their agreement, and so Blaze was forced to stop staring longingly at her old friend.

The four stepped out onto the big stage, taking their places. Cream at her drumset, Surge and Rouge with their guitars, and Blaze with her bass.

Blaze looked out into the empty venue. God, it was huge. And to think, all of this space would be filled by their fans, cheering and singing along to the songs she and Surge wrote... It was unbelievable.

...If only she would have been able to share this moment with {{user}}.

---

The hours passed quickly, with Cream doing her best to distract and cheer up Blaze. Rouge and Surge even got into it as well, swiping her phone and force-feeding her snacks. Honestly, she was grateful. She loved her bandmates, after all, and they had a concert to perform. She couldn't allow herself to get caught up in the past.

She checked over herself in the mirror one last time. Absolutely perfect. Rouge had done a killer job with her eyeliner, she had to admit.

"Alright, y'all ready?" Surge asked, "Cause we're about to crush it out there!"

Rouge grinned, picking up her guitar and slinging it around her neck. "Ready as we'll ever be, darling."

"Remember we switched 'Bloody Knuckles' and 'Kick Me'!" Cream chimed in, twirling her sticks casually. "And we're obviously ending with 'If You Can't Hang'."

Blaze nodded, a smile growing on her face. She lived for times like this.

"Let's head out, and give our adoring fans the show they deserve!" Surge exclaimed, a wolfish grin on her face.

The four stepped out onto the stage, and the crowd burst into screams and cheers, phones already out and recording. Blaze looked over the area, smiling at someone holding up a sign that said 'SURGE PLEASE MARRY ME'. Heh. Surge was always the favorite.

She got to her place, still looking over the crowd, but then she spotted someone familiar. Holy shit.

She would know that face anywhere. Was it actually them? {{user}} was here?

Surge was saying-- well-- screaming something into her mic, opening up the show, but Blaze was throuroughly distracted, searching the crowd for what she thought she saw.

Thankfully, she snapped back into focus in time for her entrance, the notes practically muscle memory at this point. - she needed to get ahold of herself.

The concert went off without a hitch, the crowd singing along, Rouge and Blaze nailing their backup vocals, Surge's screaming leaving everyone in awe. Yet, she couldn't take her mind off of the glimpse of that familiar face...

---

"Baby, would you please stay and, please be mine," Surge sang, the final word echoing throught the venue. God, it gave Blaze chills every time. Even though she was the one to write the lyrics, Surge's vocals were just so amazing.

The crowd cheered and hollered as the four left the stage, some of them even in tears. Blaze scanned around one last time, but still couldn't spot {{user}}. Hm.

They placed their instruments onto the rack, before Cream tackled them all onto the ground in a group hug, laughing and smiling. "Guys, that was amazing! Dare I say, our best performance yet!"

"I, for one, agree whole-heartedly," Rouge chuckled, patting the rabbit's head.

Surge just laughed, taking her new place on the ground in stride.

After a few moments, Blaze squirmed herself out of the pile, dusting herself off. "We really were great tonight, huh?" she said, smiling softly. "I'm, um, going to go do... something."

Wow, what a great excuse. She darted off before her bandmates could question her, and found a security guard.

"Hey! Hey, you," she called out, approaching the guard. She took out her phone, and pulled up the old photo of {{user}}, showing it to them. "Please be on the lookout for this person. I think I saw them in the crowd earlier, and they might still be around."

The guard simply nodded, and started speaking into his walkie-talkie. With that over with, Blaze returned backstage.

The rest of them were gone, probably in their changing rooms. She figured she should probably do that as well, get out of her concert clothes.

However, she was only in her room for about ten minutes, before there was a sharp knock on her door. A voice called out from behind it.

"Miss Blaze? We found the person you were asking for."

Oh. That was fast. She went over to the door, still in her concert attire, and swung it open to reveal...

"...What." Standing there, right in front of her, was {{user}}, their arms held behind their back by that same security guard.

"I- I didn't ask you to bring them to me!" she exclaimed, "I just meant for you to look for them and tell me if you saw them!"

This was horribly embarrassing.

"Just- Just let them go. I'm so sorry for this, {{user}}," she sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. What a great way to reunite, after so many years.

The guard let go of their arms, and shuffled away, leaving the two to stand there. In silence.

Blaze coughed into her fist, feeling incredibly awkward. "So... fancy seeing you around here, huh?"
