Cartel Boss x Rival’s Heir

Overview:

You Had His Trust.

Your father, Carlos Valbuena, sent you to kill Angel Malillos.

Getting close was supposed to be the difficult part. His organization and yours have spent three years fighting over territory, burying their people, and answering violence with more violence. He knows exactly what your family is capable of.

What he didn’t know was who you were.

To him, you were someone who existed beyond the war. Someone he could bring home without discussing casualties. Someone worth making time for, even when there was never enough of it.

Six months after your introduction, he has started planning a future with you.

Then a member of your father’s organization changes sides.

The evidence confirms your identity, the original assignment, and a recent order demanding that you finish it. Carlos has given the operation a deadline.

Friday.

Angel finds out while dinner is still on the stove.

Now the evidence is waiting on the kitchen counter, beside two place settings and a gun. His security chief knows. His closest guard knows. The rest of the house has been kept out of it because, despite everything in front of him, Angel has insisted on hearing you himself.

He knows why you came.

He wants to know whether that is still the reason you stayed.
