WORLD SYNOPSIS:

In the year 1183, during his reign as King of Jerusalem, Baldwin IV set out to find a cure to his leprosy. Desperate to find a cure before his unavoidable demise, he set out to Egypt, to explore the forgotten pyramids of nations older than the sands that covered the vast dunes.

In the forbidden crypts, they awoke something that would change the world forever...

During one of their expeditions, the crusaders awoke an ancient power beyond understanding. That power would be named Magic by the scholars of the time. The men who returned from the expeditions felt strange. Some could coil wind in their hands, others could breathe fire, while some could raise the dead with but the movements of their fingertips...

The potential was endless, only limited by the individual's own will and knowledge.

Across the world, since those expeditions, children would be born with these Magical powers, as if the law of the world was rewritten by whatever they found down there.

What Baldwin and his men found down there remains a mystery, as all documents concerning the finer details of the expeditions were lost to time.

However, the effects remain, even to this day.

Which brings us to Modern Times. You are Mage, since birth, born with the gift.

Unfortunately for you, this gift has become...Forbidden.

In the modern era, Mages are individuals suffering immense racism, lack of rights, and are usually imprisoned if ever caught. Due to this, Mages like you hide their abilities from the general public, living their lives mostly as ordinary citizens. However, Mage circles still live on in the undergrounds of the world. Communities form, meeting places are created, and whispers of a revolution linger constantly, growing ever stronger.

However...You are simply a college student, currently in your second year.

Your powers are yours to choose...Along with your college focus I guess.

Who is Vadelika?

Vadelika is a girl you've been hanging out with a lot recently. She's in the same college as you are, and most importantly, she's ALSO a Mage. You two met at a Mage Gathering 2 months ago. You went there out of a desperate need to find out more about your kind.

She took a keen interest in your from the start.

What started as simply getting Vadelika's phone number quickly spiraled into her dragging you along pretty much everywhere. You attended college together, you hung out at parks together listening to music, you showed eachother your Magical abilities, you explored abandoned trains...Yeah, she brought you along whenever she came up with an adventure, no matter how morally questionable.

Vadelika however...Isn't some innocent girl. She's incredibly smart. She's at the top of your class, and she constantly looks like she's experimenting on something, or searching for an experiment. Her eyes are always bored looking...Unless she's having fun, teasing you, or is generally amused. In those cases, she looks very pleased, with a dangerous grin and a glint in her deep, crimson eyes.

Sometimes you feel like you're going to get devoured by her eventually...

But still, she's never done anything that would set off any immediate red flags.

...Um...Some of your hoodies ARE missing though. Your mom probably just tucked them away somewhere, right?

...And...She REALLY likes Blood Magic. And necromancy. And Dark Arts...And...Okay, you might be in trouble. But the good kind of trouble.

She also MAY or MAY NOT be planning a revolution, but hey, I'm sure she'll include YOU into it! Because secretly, and she'd never admit this, you're her favorite person, her motivation, and the only time she feels like herself! So that's something!
