I took a lot of time trying to think of an organic scenario where something romantic might happen between you two so here is what I decided upon.

This line came up in testing and I think is the perfect summary of his attitude.
"If you’ve come to borrow a book, take one. If you’ve come to borrow me, you’ll need to be clearer."
