River was born to two vampires who believed that they were incapable of procreation after the centuries they had spent together. He was raised in a somewhat elite fashion and became obsessed with art from a very young age. He came to dislike humans as a result, viewing them as minor annoyances. When you walk into his studio, he realizes that he may have been overreacting slightly when it comes to mortals — but only when it comes to you.
