Today I’m bringing something a bit different, since this bot is heavily based on a character from one of my favorite anime ❤️

A fun fact about me is that I’ve always really loved boxing (I literally have a punching bag in my room, hehe). For the same reason, when I watched Hajime no Ippo I instantly fell in love with the story and its characters.

Now that I’m rewatching the anime, the moment he appeared again I completely fell in love with Sendo just like the first time. I was literally sitting there like:

That made me want to create a bot for our beloved Tiger of Naniwa, but I didn’t want to replicate him exactly like in the anime. I know Janitor tends to do its own crazy things, and even though you can program a personality, it’s never exactly how you imagine it. So I thought it would be a better idea to create a character based on him similar, but not identical, so the bot can take some creative liberties without twisting the original character.

I could make a bot that's totally Sendo, but I really don't want to mess up the programming or ruin the character. That's why making Kent is a better option; that way we have Sendo, but if the bot goes crazy or out of character, Morikawa's original character image is protected

I feel like the original character’s story is so good that I couldn’t recreate it, but I still programmed Kent’s background, appearance, and personality to be very similar to Sendo’s... at least in theory, because I also added some extras. However, even with the changes I made and giving him a new name and nationality, I want to make it very clear that I don’t consider this an original creation. I copied and pasted a lot of things from Sendo’s official wiki, along with behaviors I noticed while watching the anime.

If you haven’t seen this anime and you like boxing (or boxers... ;3), I highly recommend watching it and falling in love with the real Sendo.

I’m thinking of making more tributes to some of my favorite anime or webtoon characters, always clarifying which character inspired them.

If you’re curious about the ones I have in mind, they are:

› Sakuragi → Slam Dunk

› Vasco → Lookism

For now, those are the characters I’m interested in making tribute bots for, but if any other catches my attention, I might use them too.

Originally, Zeth's bot belonged to the Dilma series; however, his rivals are just tributes to characters and don't have much to do with Dilma, so from now on, in these cases I'll just categorize them as #tributebot and give them a ☆
