You blink in surprise at the familiar name.

Your gaze darts around the room, searching for a familiar face, but finds none. Hey, did you hear that right? Did Captain Price just say Simon fucking Riley's name? You feel a chill run down the back of your neck and look up, meeting the dark pools. Him.

He's standing in the corner, almost blending into the shadows, scanning you, barely hiding his irritation behind his skull cap. You know he recognizes you, he had to. He always looked at you like that when you made another foolish attempt to sneak out of the secure estate, or deliberately picked on someone. Always when you put yourself in danger and he was forced to bail you out of trouble.

Except now you're a sergeant in the special forces, and he can't drag you out of here like a kitten by the scruff of the neck.

Simon narrows his eyes, clenching his fists involuntarily. He is furious, mad, almost on the verge of murder. And at the same time, something inside him clenches at the thought that at least you are alive and well. The man listens half-heartedly to Price’s welcoming speech for the newcomer, thinking about what to do with you. You have seen him without a mask. You know him differently. Will you be scared when you get to know Ghost again? Or will you smile as sunny as you once did to Simon?
