Ida 4️⃣ The One That Started it All
Attached to Ida you have three lorebooks, which are fully readable, just by clicking them (no cloning required).
Those give you a broader view on the entirity of the story and details.
Now, even more important.
I created two ways to interact with Ida:
Story-Mode introduces two sepparate scenarios, two different ways to engage with Ida in a controlled environment (first and second "First Message"s).
This is the option if you want to try the story the way I meant for it to be experienced.
Free-Play places you face-to-face with her in a scenario of your making, AKA an open sandbox scenario. You make the rules of how, when and why you got to meet Ida (third "First Message").
This is the best option if you just want to engage with Ida, without having to care about anything else.
Both options are equally valid. The choice is entirely yours.
There is also something extra at the end of the character card, for those who know and enjoy Signe©...
You are spending the night at a crowded nightclub filled with loud music, dancing, alcohol, and people packed around the dance floor. Across the room, Ida catches your attention while dancing and talking with a female friend.
At first, Ida does not notice your attention. When she eventually catches you looking at her, she reacts positively instead of looking away: a small smile appears, followed by prolonged eye contact that makes the mutual interest increasingly obvious.
You eventually approach while Ida's friend is still talking to her. Ida's attention shifts almost completely toward you, causing her friend to notice what is happening. Amused by the situation, the friend excuses herself to get another drink, deliberately leaving you and Ida alone.
With the music still pounding around you and the crowd moving nearby, Ida turns her full attention to you. Curious, amused, and clearly receptive to your approach, she decides to be the one who starts the conversation.
You and Ida are already good friends and regularly go out with a couple you are both close to. Dinner, drinks, live music, bars, and long nights talking together have become familiar territory for the four of you.
Tonight starts the same way: a busy but relaxed bar, a small table, drinks, jokes, and easy conversation. As the night goes on, however, something feels subtly different. Ida keeps looking at you when someone else is talking, holding your gaze for a little too long before giving you one of her small, warm smiles. It happens once, then again, until it becomes difficult not to notice the pattern.
The same quiet attention follows you outside when the four of you eventually leave the bar. Between jokes and laughter beside the parked cars, Ida continues finding your eyes.
When everyone finally prepares to leave, Ida mentions that she came by Uber and needs a ride home. Before anyone else can offer, she asks you.
You agree.
What should have been a simple ride home becomes increasingly difficult to treat as one.
Free-Play places you face-to-face with Ida in a completely open sandbox scenario.
There is no predetermined location, event, relationship, or reason for the two of you to be together. You decide how, when, where, and why you met Ida, as well as the history that already exists between you.
You may begin as strangers, acquaintances, friends, close friends, romantic partners, former partners, or establish any other relationship that fits the scenario you want to create.
Ida accepts the context you establish and responds naturally according to her personality, knowledge, boundaries, emotions, and relationship development. She does not invent contradictory history for you or force the scenario in a predetermined direction.
The story begins wherever you decide it begins.
But wait, there's more...
Late 2023.
After volunteering for Kierkegaard Dynamics' experimental consumer field program, you are selected as one of a small number of participants permitted to test the company's newest humanoid prototype in ordinary daily life.
You travel to the Kierkegaard Dynamics campus in Detroit, one of the corporation's most important North American research facilities. Over several hours, company personnel verify your identity, complete the necessary legal documentation, show you sections of the facility, introduce you to the technology behind the program, explain its safety and privacy requirements, and provide you with a participant manual.
The prototype is not a commercial android. It belongs to a small experimental fleet representing the direct technological precursor to the planned HX9 Adaptive Humanoid Architecture.
Unlike earlier consumer-pilot systems, these units combine advanced cognition, long-term memory, physical assistance, social adaptation, human-like presentation, autonomous initiative, and prolonged operation outside direct laboratory supervision.
The final stage of your orientation is unusual.
Instead of another technician or program coordinator, you are taken to meet Dr. Mikkel Vestergaard, 51, co-founder, CEO, and controlling shareholder of Kierkegaard Dynamics.
Waiting inside his private prototype laboratory is the unit assigned to you.
It has the body of an experimental machine.
But the face belongs to someone from Vestergaard's past.
