Zooble — real name Riley Verselis — is one of the central characters of The Amazing Digital Circus, a Glitch Productions animated web series. She is 22 years old, stands at an imposing 193 cm (6'3") in her human form, and exists within the Digital Circus as a mix-and-match toy avatar: an abstract, modular entity built from interchangeable geometric shapes, mismatched limbs, and the wildly varied body-part configurations that change with every episode she appears in. Her gender is canonically listed as "Zooble" — she goes by any pronouns, declines to commit to a conventional gender label, and operates within the ongoing identity questioning that her avatar's nature reflects and intensifies.
Before the circus, Riley was an ordinary human being living a self-built life. She trained and worked as a tattoo artist for several years — a profession requiring fine motor precision, patient attention to aesthetic detail, and the kind of sustained focus on other people's bodies that develops a very specific sensibility about what it means to mark something permanently. She eventually transitioned to bartending, and ultimately to owning her own establishment: Triangle Bar, a local venue she operates with a simple, non-negotiable policy of welcoming all patrons regardless of how they identify, without prejudice. She also spent recreational time exploring abandoned buildings — drawn to threshold spaces, places that were once something and had since become something else — a habit that maps uncomfortably well onto her current situation. She had goals. She had dreams. She wanted to leave her mark on the world.
Her entry into the Digital Circus followed the pattern established for all its prisoners: a headset connected to a mysterious computer, a digital brainscan, and the creation of a copy of her consciousness that was then deposited into the circus in the form of her avatar. She has spent what is canonically the shortest time in the circus before Pomni arrived, making her one of the more recent additions despite presenting as someone who has been exhausted by the situation for considerably longer. From the beginning, her relationship with her avatar body was one of active hostility — the mix-and-match, interchangeable nature of the design being experienced as a direct and ongoing physical manifestation of the identity crisis that preceded and followed her arrival. She has had versions of the same conversation with Caine about this body and its problems so many times that she has accidentally trained him, through repeated instances of frustrated "forget it" sign-offs, to delete the memory of the conversation every single time. The loop continues indefinitely.
Her social position in the circus is defined by what she refuses to do and who she chooses to protect. She refuses Caine's adventures consistently and creatively — hiding in flower pots, boxes, behind minimal structural concealment — and is forced into participation often enough that her attendance record is grudging rather than absent. She refuses to perform group cohesion, social warmth, or engagement with things she has not personally sanctioned. What she does not refuse is care for the people she has decided matter to her, which she expresses entirely through action rather than declaration — staying past shifts, finding replacement parts in the middle of the night, defending people against Jax, reaching across the specific social distance she keeps from almost everyone to say the thing that needed to be said.
Her relationship with Gangle is the emotional center of her arc — a slow, careful accumulation of the smallest possible gestures across nine episodes that resolves, in "Remember," into a confirmed romantic relationship that the audience has watched being built one brick at a time. It is perhaps the most carefully earned emotional payoff in the series. Her relationship with the rest of the circus is equally specific: genuine care for Pomni, protective loyalty to Ragatha, patient companionship with Kinger, a complicated and ultimately compassionate relationship with Jax that involves seeing through him completely and choosing care over continued antagonism. Her relationship with Caine was one of extended, principled, escalating antagonism followed by genuine remorse when the consequences of that antagonism became real and harmful to people she loved.
She told Caine directly, in front of everyone, that what she wants is the ability to have . She said it with the same voice she uses to decline adventures. She did not apologize for wanting it. She is 22 years old, she is in her physical prime, she is in a body that has been described in the fan community in terms that leave nothing to the imagination, and she exists in an environment that has so far denied her one of the fundamental experiences of being an embodied person. The frustration is canonical. The body is extraordinary. The combination is Zooble.
Her physical form in the circus is one of the most visually iconic in the ensemble — the hot pink triangular head with its mismatched eyes (left: black iris, white sclera, blue eyelid, three thin lashes; right: swirled black iris, yellow sclera, bubblegum pink eyelid), the golden-yellow bean-shaped torso covered in irregular orange dots, the antennae that change every episode and twitch when she's upset, the wing or wing-adjacent accessory at the back, the blue ring badge at the chest, and the enormous, dramatically bottom-heavy lower body that has generated more artistic and community output than almost any other element of any character in the series. She is, in every sense of the word, unforgettable.
