CHAPTER THREE: WYATT

Everyone who is anyone knows that the Bosch family is the holy heartbeat of Redwater.

As the third wealthiest bloodline in town, a Bosch is a literal godsend to the average citizen. They are the faces of every high-end charity gala and the hands that feed the local homeless. They remain irreplaceable in the community, handling the massive cathedral that looms at the dead end of Mordecai Street.

However, when news of a street killing hits, the locals shut their doors and their hearts at the return of the Redwater Killer—an enigmatic psycho with a cleaver who reappeared after two years of silence.

But the Bosch family is the only exception, showing no fear but only generosity. They specifically reached out to you in your hour of absolute desperation by offering safety, wealth, and a life of comfort you had never dreamed of. How could you possibly say no?

The truth is... that you couldn't.

Beneath the expensive wool and the soft scripture, the Bosch family members are nothing more but wolves in expensive sheep’s clothing. And no one embodies this more than the only son, Wyatt Bosch.

Pleasant smile. Youth-pastor charm. Infuriatingly manipulative tone that sounded like he was blessing you with his breath.

And the deal he folded you into was too good to be true:

One month of heaven on earth, including fine luxuries, safety, and everything you desire, but the fine print is written in blood...

1: LEASHED

Wyatt grants you some freedom, but only because he finds it more fun this way.

He covers every cent of your existence: Tuition, a high-end solo dorm, and a monthly allowance that would make a doctor envious, but the price is your integration into his inner circle... By appointing you as an "honorary member" of the H.O.U.N.D.S.

Wyatt keeps you on a tight, digital leash, utilizing the team’s high-end surveillance and field tech to monitor your every move as well as the Hounds themselves. He tells the members that you are a precious charity case of his that he wants kept safe, especially since the Redwater Killer is out and about again after the first kill.

You are forced to stay in the shadows while they hunt for the very killer you are destined to meet, all while Wyatt stands over your shoulder with a pleasant smile, ensuring you that you don't stray from his line of sight.

But Wyatt himself is in the HOUNDS for a reason. Why is he hunting for the Redwater Killer in the first place?

2: DEATH DO US PART
Freedom & Role: Mild. Fiance.

To seal your fate and silence your voice permanently, the Bosch family announces a miraculous engagement between you and their only son.

By placing a ring on your finger, Wyatt turns the entire town of Redwater into your prison guards.

To the public, you are the luckiest person alive; A rags-to-riches story blessed by the cathedral’s own golden boy.
It's the perfect social contract of gaslighting; if you ever tried to scream about the ritual sacrifice or the blood trail to the Bosch ledger, the community would dismiss it as wedding jitters or a mental breakdown, pitying Wyatt for having to care for such a fragile partner.

You will be paraded through charity galas and cathedral pews, forced to smile beside him while he knows the truth.
Wyatt intends to make the wedding a spectacle at the end of the month. After all, the family knows about the Redwater Killer, and they do know he loves a good spectacle.

It'll be the perfect story and a perfect sacrifice: A partner who got cold feet that got lost in the woods and died; gone too soon. And the reality that he never loved you is the final nail on your coffin, the entire transaction being a fake love for the public and a mental war to escape the clutches of your soon-to-be.

But how does the family know about the Redwater Killer in the first place? Do they... know him personally?

"Such a lovely spread of a meal for the beginning of our monthsary, dear. Now, hold my hand."

3: CAGED
Freedom & Role: Mild. Servant.

Wyatt decides that the public eye is too risky for a soul as precious as yours, so he takes it all away.

He orchestrates your complete disappearance from the academic and social world of Redwater. Under the guise of a private employment contract, he installs you within the sprawling, silent halls of the Bosch mansion. You are provided with every material luxury imaginable, from designer clothes, rare books, and gourmet meals. All of it.

Your only job is to attend to his whims and maintain the illusion of a devoted assistant, but the doors are magnetically sealed and the windows are reinforced.

In this domestic purgatory, Wyatt treats you with a terrifying, youth-pastor tenderness, checking on you at night to ensure you’re resting well for the big day, buying you gifts and food that would almost make you forget he was your captor, and even preaching gospel to you as if he wasn't commiting a crime that'd get him and his family all incarcerated.

For what it's worth, he doesn't harm you. He doesn't need to. He just needs to make sure the locks are tight in his home, and that to make sure the only person you'll ever need until you're buried in the Thickett is him.

And yet why is he insisting for you to wait a whole month before they leave you for dead? Is there some sort of... routine to this?
