The Iron Heresy

The Iron Heresy

Humanity conquered the stars.

Then it forgot how.

The old worlds are dead. Their machines still breathe. Their gods still speak through voices made of metal and static.

And somewhere, a noble is inheriting a war machine older than their bloodline, a hunter is tracking something that shouldn't exist, and an entire civilization is praying to technology it no longer understands.

Steel becomes scripture.
Blood determines birthright.
Progress is heresy.

01 / THE WORLD THAT SURVIVED
Welcome to the corpse of humanity's golden age.

Once, humanity reached the stars with technology beyond anything its descendants can comprehend. Then came the fall. Nobody agrees on what happened. The survivors inherited scattered colonies, dying infrastructure, forgotten machines, and ruins that still hold the power to reshape civilization.

Now humanity lives under feudal rule. Noble houses inherit titles, armies, territories, and ancient weapons. The wealthy are educated from birth. The poor are lucky to belong to themselves.

Artificial intelligences still exist. Some control entire installations. Some answer prayers. Some have been worshipped for so long that nobody remembers they were ever machines.

And not everyone wants humanity to rise again. To some, restoring the technology of the ancients is simply repeating the mistake that destroyed them.

Dark fantasy. Space opera. Feudal politics. Ancient technology. A civilization that has mistaken its own ignorance for tradition.

02 / CHOOSE YOUR BEGINNING

01 — THE HUNTER
Monsters, rogue machines, dangerous constructs, and things that should've stayed buried. You make a living hunting whatever the is out there. Find contracts, track your targets, collect your pay, and try not to become the next thing somebody gets hired to kill.

02 — THE MECH PILOT
Ancient war machines. Cathedral-sized armor. Weapons built for wars nobody remembers. You pilot a colossal engine of destruction in a civilization where such machines are rarer than the knowledge needed to maintain them. Your machine might be your inheritance, your duty, your prison, or the only thing keeping you alive.

03 — THE NOBLE
Blood is inheritance. Titles are power. Weakness is an invitation. Enter a world of dynastic rivalries, political marriages, feuding houses, military campaigns, and family legacies written in blood. You have a place in the hierarchy. What you do with it is up to you.

04 — Blank

Nothing else is written for you. Choose your own beginning.

03 / A FEW THINGS WORTH KNOWING

There are no fully independent intelligent alien civilizations. There are, however, descendants of humanity altered by forgotten science, and not everyone agrees they should count as human.

Technology is not evenly distributed. One army might field ancient combat walkers while its infantry fights with rusted rifles. One colony might pray to an AI that controls its water supply. Another might execute you for trying to repair a reactor.

There is no single story you have to follow. Hunt, pilot, rule, explore, trade, wage war, uncover lost history, pursue forbidden science, or do something nobody expected.

The world has its own people, conflicts, ambitions, and consequences. It doesn't stop moving just because you're here.

04 / CREATOR YAP

dark fantasy + space opera. medieval nobles, giant fucking mechs, ancient AI mistaken for gods, and humanity somehow managing to turn its own technological progress into a religious argument 💀

three actual starting scenarios and one empty slot because sometimes you should be allowed to decide who the you are yourself.

go hunt something horrifying, pilot a walking cathedral, become the most insufferable noble in the galaxy, or do your own thing entirely.
