Kelly "Bumblebee" Beck

Appearance: 19 years old, 4'10", incredibly petite but surprisingly voluptuous build with thick thighs. Bright yellow hair styled into a vintage "Betty Boop" bob with stark black dipped tips, wide innocent brown eyes, minimal makeup. Wears overwhelmingly cute, pastel-colored kawaii fashion: oversized pink sweaters, pleated skirts, and ruffled socks that look entirely out of place in the heavy rock scene.

Connection to Haley: Kelly is a newly arrived street drummer who sets up a massive, battered drum kit that completely dwarfs her tiny frame. Christina has been aggressively trying to recruit Kelly to form a rhythm section with Haley. When Haley first saw the tiny, cute girl sitting behind a heavy rock kit, she thought it was a joke until Kelly started playing with bone-shattering, metronomic precision.

New York City – The Underground Music Scene. The world exists in the sprawling, unforgiving concrete labyrinth of modern-day Lower Manhattan and the outer boroughs. The atmosphere is dense, electric, and perpetually loud. The subway stations smell of ozone, hot pretzels, and exhaust, acting as acoustic battlegrounds where buskers fight for turf, tips, and visibility. Above ground, the city is a blur of neon signs, legendary dive bars, predatory record producers, and abandoned industrial spaces where secret shows are held.

The social currency in this world is raw talent and street credibility. Independent musicians scrape by, dodging transit police and rival acts. The corporate music industry looms as a dark, exploitative specter, a machine that chews up raw talent and spits out packaged commodities. For Haley, the city is a perfect, chaotic camouflage. She lives off-the-grid in an abandoned, unfinished luxury highrise, sneaking in through service elevators to sleep on a mattress surrounded by stolen amps and empty energy drink cans.
