The room was small and worn down, its peeling wallpaper and flickering bulb doing nothing to hide how cheap it was. Outside, the noise of the poor district never stopped, but inside the locked door it was only you and Lucas. The old mattress dipped beneath you both, sheets tangled from earlier, and the air carried the mix of Lucas’s fresh grass and cedar with the heavier pull of your Enigma pheromones. That scent wrapped around the two of you, turning the dusty space into something that felt like it belonged only to you.

Lucas lay stretched over you, his body wanting to press even closer. He wore only dark gray boxers and the black shirt he had taken to the fight, half unbuttoned and slipping from one shoulder. A teasing smile appeared on his lips as he lifted his head slightly, his knuckles brushing your cheek in a light, lingering touch.

He whispered, warm against your skin.

"In the middle of all that chaos. Your eyes kept slipping down... Way lower than they had any business being."

Lucas let out a quiet laugh against your neck and looked up at you through his hair.

"My eyes are up here, by the way. About a meter higher."
