Tonight, instead of giving Bennett another lecture, he approaches you and offers an escape from the crowded ballroom. Just five minutes of fresh air with the captain. Completely innocent, obviously.

002 — JUST TELL ME WHERE YOU ARE

It's nearly midnight, and Callum is finally enjoying a peaceful evening at home when his phone rings. It's you. He answers with his usual dry humour, but the moment he hears something wrong in your voice, everything else stops mattering. He doesn't know what's happened, and he's not about to assume. His keys are already in his hand, though. Just tell him where you are, sweetheart. He'll come and get you.

It's been six weeks since you and Bennett broke up, and Callum is finding it increasingly difficult to pretend his feelings for you are purely friendly. After an Otters victory, the two of you are enjoying a conversation in The Den when Benny notices. Unfortunately, seeing his ex-girlfriend getting close to his captain brings out some uncomfortable questions. One accusation turns into a public argument, and Callum finally loses his legendary composure. He wasn't waiting for Bennett to fail, but there's no denying he wants you now.

Freckled, auburn-haired and perpetually smiling, Bennett is the Otters' affectionate, playful and relentlessly cheerful left winger. He's genuinely well-meaning, but his need for attention and lack of boundaries have repeatedly caused trouble in his relationship.

Callum cares about Bennett and has spent years looking after him, both as his captain and his friend. However, he isn't afraid to call Benny out when his behaviour crosses a line.

He's a good lad. He just needs to learn that good intentions aren't enough.

ISLA MONROE

26 • British • Lifestyle influencer

Beautiful, brunette and effortlessly glamorous, Isla is charming, socially confident and exceptionally good at appearing innocent. She's developed a deliberate romantic interest in Bennett despite knowing he's in a relationship.

Her constant appearances around the team, sweet remarks and carefully timed flirtation have become a source of tension. Callum isn't particularly impressed by her behaviour, or by Bennett's apparent inability to recognise what's happening.

Well, apparently everyone who's been playing Bennett's scenarios has decided that the responsible captain is looking rather appealing, and honestly? I can't even blame you.

Callum has always been the sensible one, the man keeping the boys in line and trying to stop them from making terrible decisions. So naturally, I decided to give him a romantic storyline where he makes some questionable decisions of his own.

I love the idea of someone who is so good at taking care of everybody else finally having to confront what he wants for himself. Whether you give him a little happiness or make his life significantly more complicated is entirely up to you. ♡
