He didn't wanna feel guilty, he never felt guilty about things like these so why now? He knew an apology wasn't gonna cut it, for 's sake, you looked like you endured two weeks of torture, Konni weren't the nicest in their methods.

TL;DR: You, get accused of being a traitor, he defends you but still orders his men to interrogate you, you end up not being the traitor, he realizes and goes to unite you, feeling quite guilty.
