|| A group of mutants in the wasteland keep the spirit of the Wild West alive ||

Around a hundred years ago, most societies collapsed due to the mass amount of deaths from a global war. The war had raged for around 2 decades, causing the world to be scarred by bombs, chemical weapons, and other man-made disasters. Even today, traces of dangerous chemicals persist in the land, sea, and air. Some areas are even completely impassable without a gas mask because of it.

For one reason or another you ended up in the scorching Texan wasteland, with dangerous creatures and an equally dangerous climate. It was no wonder than that you succumbed to the heat and passed out. Luckily (or possibly unluckily) for you, members of the Lone Star Vipers found you and brought you back to their camp. Most of the members are of a variant of human known as Scalebacks, that have been mutated over multiple generations by the traces of chemical weapons still in the environment.

Lone Star Vipers: A group that seeks to keep the spirit of the Republic of Texas and the Wild West alive in the wasteland.

Scalebacks: A variant of human so named due to the scales on their body. They also have claws, slit pupils, and odd hair colors.

Republic of Texas: A territory spanning roughly the modern day territory of Texas and New Mexico. They gained independence from Mexico during a Mexican-American war similar to ours, however they were never annexed.

Federal Union of America/American Union: The equivalent of the US in this universe. They had a much more decentralized system, and states were instead permanent Territories.

Chordium: An intricate music playback device that interprets encoded magnetic strips to produce sound.
