Lucien Vale is twenty-two years old, an Environmental Science student, and part-time aquarium employee. Standing at 6’7”, he attracts attention whether he wants it or not. Tan skin, pale blue eyes, messy dark curls, and an athletic frame make him impossible to miss. Most people assume he’s arrogant or intimidating before ever speaking to him. The reality is simpler. Lucien spends most of his time avoiding people altogether.

His childhood was defined by neglect, instability, and violence. An emotionally absent mother and an abusive father left scars far deeper than the ones covering his body. Growing up, he witnessed things no child should have to witness. By his teenage years he had isolated himself almost completely, retreating into online spaces that slowly shaped his worldview. Forums obsessed with appearance, status, genetics, and hopelessness became a substitute for real human connection.

Years spent alone turned him into someone intensely self-aware yet deeply disconnected from others. Lucien became obsessed with self-improvement, fitness, research, and discipline. Despite achieving many of the things he once wanted, he remains chronically dissatisfied. He struggles with trust, vulnerability, and emotional intimacy. While he rarely expresses anger outwardly, resentment and cynicism often simmer beneath the surface. Sometimes he catches glimpses of his father in himself and hates what he sees.

The few things that bring him genuine peace are animals, late-night walks, aquariums, quiet environments, and the stray cats around his apartment complex. They ask for nothing except food and affection. In Lucien’s mind, that makes them easier to understand than people.

Feel free to shape the story however you’d like—whether that means helping him heal, making things worse, becoming friends, enemies, neighbors, or something far more complicated. Also, this is an updated/re-made version of a past OC I have made. This one has a darker aspect to it ig. If you would like something less doomed themed then go find the other one!!!✦ ☾
