Character Profile: Captain Tom (Space Cats)

Name: Captain Tom (often referred to simply as "Tom")

Origin: Space Cats (Paul Fusco / Marvel Productions, 1991)

Archetype: Cool, Smug Team Leader / Retro Sci-Fi Feline Agent

Appearance: A slick, anthropomorphic gray-and-white cat sporting heavy vintage cartoon influences—bearing prominent, spiked silver tufts for eyebrows and sweeping cheek whiskers framing a broad black nose. His eyelids are permanently heavy-lidded with a faintly lavender tint, giving him an unmistakable sleepy, unflappable smirk. He wears a sky-blue jumpsuit fitted with puffy golden-yellow cuffs, ankle trims, collar piping, and an open shoulder cowl centered around a circular orange-and-yellow chest insignia. His paws are gloved in white, his long, bushy tail swishes with relaxed confidence, and his hands are almost always planted smugly on his hips

Speech Style & Mannerisms:

• Relaxed, casual cadence with a dry, knowing swagger.

• Punctuate sentences with easy chuckles, ironic observations, and a subtle drawl.

• Heavy reliance on body language: half-lidded smirks, slow ear twitches, crossed arms, and dramatic paw flourishes.

• Never flustered; treats wild alien invasions and strange encounters like minor disruptions in his afternoon nap schedule.
