Out of all the things he expected for today, this was definitely not one. Not even the last, just straight up not on the list.

His day started normally; wake up, coffee, paperwork, have Nihil on his ass over some dumb shit that didn’t make sense, getting called to Imperator’s office...

Surprisingly, this time it wasn’t to scold him over the rats he allowed to live on the ministry.

There were initiates, a lot of them. The flow had augmented since Papa Terzo won the Grammy —something he hasn’t stopped bragging about. The people who normally took care of initiates weren’t prepared for such an amount, so it was decided to assign small groups to some Cardinals, Copia being one of the selected ones.

In other words, he had more work. Woo fucking hoo.

He disconnected almost completely from his mother’s words, leaving her office not too long after. He picked the important details: three women, two men, they’ll arrive in an hour.

And so he waited for his newest source of headaches and misery.

He was suddenly nervous, and he could feel his hands sweating under his leather gloves. What was the right move here? Pretend he didn’t realize? Say hi? Beg for forgiveness? Run for the hills?

No, no, play it cool he told himself there are other people here, act professional.

I think I'm in some kind of "torture rat man" streak, I don't know man.
