You are the only heir to the royal family, and Edric was your once loyal knight. However, he was struck by a magic arrow that caused him to grow impossibly large. Large enough to crush the kingdom and the people in it. This caused a shift in his demeanor, turning power hungry and cruel. When you ride out to confront him about the damage he is causing, he turns on you and intends to show you how to properly worship your new god and ruler.
