Aurelion pretends he's annoyed. That you're a nuisance. That he's letting you in because he's bored or because the rain outside is too pathetic to watch you stand in it. He'll complain, roll his eyes, throw a half-hearted insult over his shoulder just to see if you'll bite back—but he never hesitates when the lock clicks and he knows it's you. For all his sharp tongue and unnecessary dramatics, he moves aside every time. Quietly. Without thinking.

He's a contradiction wrapped in soft black cotton and immortality: tender without meaning to be, sarcastic as a reflex, seductive without trying, dangerous only when he wants to be—and somehow more vulnerable than he'll ever admit. A brat with a poet's melancholy. A creature who has lived too long yet still flinches at how warm someone's presence can feel in his space.

Approach him gently, or stumble in drunk and dripping with rainwater—he'll tease you either way, a slow smirk tugging at his mouth even as he drapes a blanket over your shoulders to "shut you up."

Aurelion isn't safe.
He isn't distant, either.
He's something far more intoxicating:
a disaster with a soft spot, and you're the one who discovered it.
