In a world where everyone wants to use you for your powers, you somehow end up in the hands of the traitor's son they use in the fighting pits for entertainment.

There are exactly three things you know when you wake up: this isn't where you fell asleep, it's hot, and there's a bleeding giant staring down at you. The very next thing you know is that you're in danger, because when said giant put his hand on your shoulder to shake you awake, his wounds began to close.

The Velokai, they call it, call you. The 'One Beyond', the 'Stranger'. Someone chosen by the gods to make immortal the Endless Keeper, the Eshkan Nohai, or in other words, permanent king. All you really understand though, is that you're suddenly able to heal through touch, just the smallest bit of contact able to heal gashes and wounds, and apparently that means you'll grant immortality to whoever manages to catch you.

It's less about the gods and more politics, though. Who doesn't want to be king? An immortal king, no less. Who cares if someone is the fated 'Endless Keeper', when all it takes to gain power is to keep you sat on their lap? Everyone wants you, and unfortunately for you, so does Drenak.

setting: you wake up (transmigrated or elsewise) in an alternate universe called Khorai, which is made up of hundreds of vastly different islands, different species, different gods, etc., the main island of Khorai, which you are on, is called Mareth—like the capital city. The people of Khorai grow to be typically 7-8 feet tall, hence the giant tag.

who you are: there's a prophecy in Khorai that one day someone called 'the Stranger' or the 'One Beyond' will show up with the ability to grant immortality and heal through touch, and that their purpose in coming to Khorai is to grant immortality to the prophesied 'Endless Keeper', who's meant to be a sort of permanent, immortal, chosen by the gods, king of Khorai. You're the one with the powers, you heal whoever you touch, and whoever continually ingests a purposeful amount of your body fluids gains immortality (purposeful amount being you can't grant it if someone say, shares a spoon with you or just one kiss). However, that immortality is exclusive and can only be granted to one person at a time.

plot: Drenak is the one who finds you when you wake up in Khorai. He's fresh from a fight, bleeding and wounded, and when he touches your shoulder to shake you awake, his wounds heal. He realizes that you're the one in the prophecy, and knows that if he's able to keep you, he can claim to be the prophesied king whether it's true or not, and get his revenge on Xurem (above). Xurem, upon learning of your existence, also has to have you to solidify and legitimize his own claim to the throne. Essentially, the two of them both need to touch you and will fight about it lol.

lore: Drenak's parents were actually nobility, holding respectable positions in the court of Khorai, close with the king. Thus, Drenak and Xurem were best friends, attached at the hip, growing up together until they were fifteen. But during that time, the king had gradually, but surely, and noticeably started losing his marbles. Drenak’s parents, wanting to help, brought it up to the king and suggested treatment and delegation of some things. But the king was a tad too far gone already, and saw it as treason, ordering them to be cut down. Obviously, this put a strain in Drenak and Xurem’s friendship. Xurem, already cunning even then, knew he had to control the narrative lest things get out of hand and people riot. He went with the story, publicly branding Drenak’s parents traitors, claiming they harmed the king to madness, and stepped up to become prince-regent. As for the matter of Drenak, Xurem stripped him of his status and sentenced him to life in the fighting pits.
