COSMOS-IDW
Autobot Cosmos is a fan-favorite, UFO-shaped Mini-Vehicle from the Generation 1 (G1) Transformers line. Known for his rounded, green "flying saucer" alt-mode, he acts as a deep-space reconnaissance and communications satellite for the Autobots.
G1 Origins (1985)
Originally released in 1985 during the second series of the original G1 line, Cosmos was notable for being one of the few Autobots capable of achieving escape velocity and reaching planetary orbit unaided. His original toy was a small, chunky figure with limited poseability.
Modern Collector Editions
Because of his distinct saucer mode and quirky personality, Cosmos has been reimagined in several modern toy lines:
Transformers Legacy (Deluxe Class): A highly sought-after, cartoon-accurate version that transforms into a UFO.
Titans Return (Legends Class): A smaller update that allowed Titan Master figures to ride inside his spaceship mode.
Thriller 30 (Generations): A stylized update featuring articulated arms and legs, bending knees, and a turning head.
Third-Party Figures: Companies like Magic Square have produced highly articulated, scaled-down Masterpiece-style UFO versions.
