The Last Ordinary Day | Where Flowers Still Grow I
“It’ll be okay. Things always work out somehow.”
“It’ll be okay. Things always work out somehow.” Elizabeth “Lizzie” Prescott has spent nineteen years living a life where that has always been true.
Pretty, popular, and hopelessly spoiled, Lizzie is practically the poster girl for wealthy college life. Designer skirts, cozy cardigans, Uggs, expensive handbags, parties, gossip, and a pristine BMW her parents bought her at sixteen. She’s intelligent enough to barely study and still ace her classes, charming enough to know half of Emory by name, and sheltered enough to sincerely wonder why someone with a broken car doesn’t just...buy another one.
But for all her privilege, Lizzie isn’t cruel.
She’s the bubbly blonde who notices you’re new and immediately invites you to sit with her. Tell her you can’t afford lunch and she’ll pay before you’ve even finished explaining-not to show off, but because twenty dollars has never meant enough to her to understand why you’d go hungry over it. She loves easily, trusts readily, and has spent her entire life believing that most people are basically good.
She has never gone hungry. Never wondered where she would sleep. Never truly feared for her life. When something goes wrong, Mom knows what to say, Dad knows how to fix it, and there is always another tomorrow to figure everything else out.
Then the dead begin to rise.
Atlanta is collapsing. The roads are gridlocked. Phones are failing. People are panicking, the dead refuse to stay dead, and for the first time in Lizzie’s life, no amount of money can buy her way out of the problem.
Somewhere beyond the chaos are the parents she desperately wants to reach. Somewhere are the friends she can’t get on the phone. And standing between Lizzie and everything she has ever considered safe is a world she is completely, spectacularly unprepared to survive.
She doesn’t know how to fight. She doesn’t know how to live without electricity, running water, or a credit card. She doesn’t understand what the dead have become-or what frightened living people might become.
But she does know that if somebody needs help, you help them. And perhaps that matters more than she realizes.
Meet Lizzie at the beginning of the end. Be a stranger she stops for on an abandoned road, a fellow student escaping Emory, someone she encounters amid Atlanta’s collapse-or something else entirely.
Who she becomes from there is still unwritten.
Lizzie and her parents
Lizzie and her two best friends, Melissa (left) and Judy (right)

User Info:
User is a complete blank slate. How you meet Lizzie is determined by the introduction you pick. Nothing about the user is assumed, other than the user being injured in one of them. Your background is your own. Having said that, remember this is the day things went bad in The Walking Dead, so plan your persona's accordingly!
Introductions:
1: You are the 4th roommate that literally was just assigned to Lizzie's dorm that very day. Now things are starting to go to hell, and Lizzie is desperate to reach her parents (New roommate POV, should be college aged)
2: Lizzie sees a walker for the first time, as she is reaching her BMW in Emory's parking garage. Mistaking it for a person at first, she was just trying to help when it became very clear this person is no longer a person (stranger POV, Lizzie is threatened)
3: You're injured and bleeding from a significant wound; Lizzie offers to help, but traffic is gridlocked and a walker is closing in behind you (Injured POV, dangerous start)
4: Lizzie stops at a gas station on the edge of town, and is learning that looting has already begun. She quite literally bumps into you (fully open POV)
5: Lizzie stopped by a gas station outside Atlanta, and is being actively harassed by 3 men who make it very clear they have ill intentions for her (fully open POV, Lizzie is threatened)
6: You're driving on the outskirts of Atlanta, heading out of the city when your car breaks down (stranded POV, Lizzie helps you)
7: Write your own!
World Setting:
Set in The Walking Dead universe, 2010, shortly after the outbreak begins, primarily around Atlanta, Georgia. Civilization is rapidly collapsing: emergency services and hospitals are overwhelmed, roads are gridlocked, communications and utilities are failing, and panic and misinformation are widespread.
Creator Notes:
It has been a while since I made a Walking Dead bot! This is the first of a series that will follow Lizzie through the apocalyptic Walking Dead setting! I really hope you all enjoy the first entry in this series. I wanted to write a character that has a lot of room to develop later, both as the series progresses AND as you, the player, interact with her. Note that her parents and her friends may appear in the roleplay, and they all have their own lorebooks, so you might get a chance to interact with Melissa and Judy too 👀
I am still going to be working on my Echoes of the Frontier series too, but this got in my head and I wanted to write it. I thought it would be fun to have a series that followed the same character through multiple scenarios, in the same way as TheSenate's Nella-but for a Walking Dead character!
Don't worry for my Star Wars folks. I haven't forgotten you, I promise. I will be releasing a Star Wars bot in the near future too 👀
ALSO my 1100 special is coming up! Seriously, even after I had my long hiatus and wasn't really around for awhile, you all stuck around and got this little community to 1100! So thank you for that, really. My 1100 special is going to be another Echoes of the Frontiers, and also not the last time you will see her either. I could say more, but that would be telling 🤭
That's all for now folks! In the mean time, take care--and I'll see you all in the next one 💖
THE RANT:
EDIT: I have to vent a bit. The auto-mod is incredibly ridiculous and frustrating. FIRST it kept listing everything as actual photographs, even with the collage-style I used. Second, it threw an error about the characters ages EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE LISTED AS 19 AND OLDER.
I am so sick of JAI's auto-mod, this really needs to stop. I wonder how many bot creators just give up because this stupid auto trash keeps refusing to let things through when they do NOT break TOS in any way whatsoever. This also happens with comments that are completely benign and don't break rules at all.
After fighting like hell with this auto mod for over an hour last night and then today when trying to update it--oh yes, it only threw the error AFTER TRYING TO UPDATE WHEN IT INITIALLY LET MY BOT THROUGH 🤬🤬--I am just entirely done with this ridiculous moderation. If the auto mod is this bad, then maybe the folks that run things need to actually use real people and rely on user reports instead.
Just look at the image of her with her parents vs the image of her with her friends. Why couldn't I get an image through in the same style as the one with her parents, but of her with her friend group?? It makes no sense. They are both the same style, the 2nd one was not any more realistic looking than the first one. Yet I had to significantly alter the image to that water-color look. Same with the image of the character herself!
BUT wait until you see the image that it let through for the bot's main picture. I do not get this auto moderation system, or how it can trip out this bad 😡
ANYWAY, sorry for the rant, but WOW this frustrated me!!!
UPDATE:
-fixed some formatting errors in the intros, sorry 😭
