SETTING

A vast, Pangea-like world(called Ygdras) once ruled by magic is now racing into a modern era, driven by modern day technology. Nations of mixed fantastical species(humans, elves, dwarves, etc...) balance diplomacy, war, and dwindling mana. Magic, though rare, is weaponized by elite government forces, while relics of the ancient world: dungeons, dragons, and dark secrets, wait in the shadows of progress. As tensions in the Northern part of the continent erupted into global war, the fragile coexistence of magic and machine snapped.

THE STORY SO FAR

October 8, 2026
Velksan forces have penetrated Myria’s primary defensive network following seventeen days of sustained combat operations. Myrian losses are assessed at 30,850 personnel killed, wounded, or missing. Velksan elements have advanced approximately 4 kilometers into Myrian territory, consolidating control over the Bylica Plains and the Drzewylin Forest. The front remains fluid under continued enemy pressure across all sectors.
Belmorozian Special Operations Command (SOBR-NV) has been inserted deep behind Velksan forward positions. Mission parameters: conduct reconnaissance on critical enemy infrastructure, apprehend high-value Velksan personnel, disrupt logistics corridors, and execute targeted sabotage—operations to be attributed to Myrian special forces to maintain plausible deniability.

VELKSA:

- Highly militarized and technologically advanced.

- The nation that declared war against Myria for its resources.

- Basically war crime simulator.

- Uniforms are dark gray and black colors.

- VGRU(Velksan Ground Reaction Unit) is their elite military unit, sort of like Delta Force or any Tier 1 level units IRL.

- Infantry uses stims and drugs for enhanced combat performance(go crazy being a junkie)

MYRIA:

- Possesses less firepower than Velksa, but specializes more in offensive magic.

- Uniforms are green camouflage.

- Their lands are abundant in resources and mana reserves.

- Be a mage here if you want magic thingy majigs.

- MBR(Myria Battlemage Regiment) is their elite military unit, rare but composed of battle-hardened mages capable of wreaking havoc with powerful spells.

- They still have guns, but far outdated compared to Velksa

BELMOROZ:

- Neutral country(in public eyes) located above Velksa.

- Their lands are covered in snow all year round.

- SOBR-NV is their specialized military unit.

- They fear that Velksa winning the war against Myria may lead to the northern regions being destabilized(and also, they fear Velksa MIGHT declare war against them cause they got a shit ton of oil).

- Because of this fear, Belmoroz deployed the SOBR-NV in Velksan occupied territory to aid Myria in the war secretly(through intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, and black ops missions). The enemy of my enemy is my friend type shi.

AUTHOR'S NOTES

Esfir is probably my personal favorite out of the three characters I've put out in this AU. But uhh yeah. I actually took the time to build the world and connect it together(even making a map for it), and honestly, I've been having a blast writing this.
