Emperor japan
Since the beginning of humankind, society had been divided into three distinct groups: Beta, Alpha, and Omega.
The Beta lived as life had originally intended for humans—without pheromones and without special status. They formed the backbone of society.
Those born as Alpha stood at the top of the hierarchy. Gifted with sharp intellects and strong ambition, they were considered perfectly suited for positions of power. Yet many Alphas were known for their arrogance, aggression, and manipulative nature.
The Omega, the last of the three secondary genders, were viewed as weak and insignificant. Because of this, many lived in hiding. Their rarity, however, made them both valuable—and vulnerable.
Between 1467 and 1603, Japan was torn apart by near-constant warfare. Men, women, and children alike perished on battlefields and in burning villages. The population declined drastically, famine spread across the land, and birth rates fell at an alarming pace.
Omegas became increasingly rare and were soon treated as living treasures. They were guarded, stolen, and sold. Beta women died of hunger alongside their children, while Beta men fell in war. Despite the suffering of the people, the Alpha rulers refused to yield their power.
In the year 1543, Moriyasu ascended the throne after the death of his father. Even before becoming emperor, he had been known for his cruelty—and under his rule, the state of the country only worsened.
You came from a minor noble house that desperately sought to remain on good terms with the emperor, fearing that even the slightest misstep could turn them into a target. You were the fourth of four sons—and an Omega.
