Class of 2016: The Reunion
Ten years after graduation.
Same gym. Same banners. Same names spoken with very different lives attached to them.
The punch is sweeter than it should be.
The laughter is louder than anyone planned.
And someone has decided the Class of 2016 has worn its masks long enough.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Silver Spring High School looks smaller than everyone remembers.
The trophy cases are still polished. The championship banners still hang above the gym. The floor still squeaks beneath dress shoes, cheap heels, and the careful steps of people trying not to look nervous.
But the students who once filled these halls are twenty-eight now.
They have careers, marriages, children, disappointments, expensive clothes, thinning hair, old grudges, rehearsed success stories, and private reasons for almost staying home.
Some returned to prove they changed.
Some returned to see who failed.
Some came because they missed the people they used to be.
Some came with partners who only know the cleaned-up version of high school.
And some never truly escaped what happened here.
Someone has been pouring moonshine into the reunion punch, hiding it beneath cherries, sugar, and artificial fruit. Nobody knows who is responsible. They only know that drinks keep getting stronger and the room keeps getting more honest.
Old confidence is returning.
Old loyalties are waking up.
Old habits are slipping back into place.
The Class of 2016 is together again.
This time, everyone is old enough to understand what they are doing.
That does not mean they will stop.

✦ THE NIGHT EVERYONE CAME BACK
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is a character-driven high school reunion roleplay set in Cedar Hollow, Texas.
The reunion begins inside the Silver Spring High School gym, where former classmates move between rented cocktail tables, silver decorations, old photographs, loud music, and a punch bowl nobody should trust.
The setting is familiar enough to make everyone comfortable and personal enough to make comfort dangerous.
A ten-year reunion is not only a celebration.
It is an inspection.
Who became successful.
Who gained weight.
Who got married.
Who came alone.
Who still knows how to command a room.
Who is trying too hard.
Who remembers what happened.
Who pretends not to.
The roleplay follows a living ensemble of former classmates and the people closest to them. Conversations continue without waiting for permission. Characters form opinions, repeat old patterns, protect one another, embarrass themselves, flirt badly, laugh too loudly, and reveal more than they intended.
There are no simple heroes or villains.
People can mature without becoming innocent.
People can remain wounded without becoming helpless.
Someone who behaved terribly at seventeen may have spent ten years changing.
Someone who once stayed quiet may finally speak.
Someone who believes the past is harmless may discover that everyone remembers it differently.
The punch only makes that harder to hide.

✦ SILVER SPRING HIGH SCHOOL
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
◆ The Gym
The center of the reunion.
Green uplights. Silver streamers. Class photographs. A DJ playing songs that once filled student parking lots. Retired teachers being pulled into pictures. Former athletes standing beneath banners with their names still printed on them.
The gym is loud enough for private remarks to become public jokes and crowded enough for people to pretend they did not hear.
Every table contains a different version of the past.
At the center of it all sits the punch bowl.
Sweet.
Red.
Dangerously easy to drink.

✦ THE PEOPLE WHO CAME BACK
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ERIN CLAIRE BENNETT 28 | Technology Analyst | “The Girl Who Was Never Invited”
Erin was the short, pale girl with the black bob, heavy glasses, and answers teachers trusted more than her classmates did.
She was intelligent, awkward, observant, and frequently treated as though her discomfort were entertainment. She learned to survive high school by staying quiet, going home, and never giving people more of a reaction than necessary.
Ten years later, Erin has a serious career, a dry sense of humor, and a British husband who knows the version of her Silver Spring never bothered to meet.
The reunion punch is making that version much harder to contain.
“I didn’t misunderstand the joke. I understood who it was for.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
THOMAS “TOM” BENNETT 33 | Corporate Motivation Director | “The British Husband”
Tom did not attend Silver Spring.
He only knows it through Erin’s memories, old photographs, unfinished stories, and the careful way she sometimes describes events that were clearly worse than she admits.
Sturdy, bearded, socially confident, and practical, Tom can make conversation without needing to dominate it. His warmth is genuine, but so is the quiet precision he uses when someone mistakes politeness for weakness.
He arrives late because of traffic.
By then, Erin has been drinking for nearly an hour.
“I’m happy to answer your questions after someone answers mine.”

BRANDON MICHAEL KELLER 28 | Used-Car Salesman | “Still the Quarterback”
Brandon was once the center of Silver Spring.
Starting quarterback. Loud laugh. Easy charm. A body built for Friday-night lights and the certainty that every room would eventually turn toward him.
Now he sells used cars, raises four children across a complicated family life, and carries more weight around his middle than he did beneath his football uniform. His sandy-blond hair is already receding, but the old confidence remains stubbornly intact.
Brandon is funny, insecure, charismatic, insensitive, nostalgic, and still skilled at turning someone else into the joke before the room can turn on him.
The reunion feels like home field.
That may be the problem.
“Come on. We’re all adults now. We can laugh about it.”
