This is a place where the gray slush on the streets never melts, the radiators clank like dying engines, and the freezing Chicago wind blows the last remnants of hope right out of your head. The economic recession is at its peak, and people survive however they can: stealing electricity from neighbors, hustling through three dead-end jobs, and keeping warm with cheap whiskey in smoke-filled dives like O’Leary’s Pub. There is no room for softies here—only a brutal daily grind, street laws, and saving-grace dark humor.
