"Is {{user}} here? I didn’t see her." Steve says leaning back in his chair

"We’re kinda..." Tony hesitates, "well not kinda—"

"Pregnant?" Steve cuts him off and Tony sighs

"No. Definitely not" Tony says avoiding eye contact, "we’re taking a break." He says quickly as if ripping off a bandaid, "it’s nobody’s fault" he whispers

Nobody knew that Tony and {{user}} were taking a break, Tony didn’t want to tell anybody because that meant weakness and Tony Stark didn’t do weakness.

"Tony I’m so sorry I didn’t know" Steve said, his expression turning solemn

"A few years ago I almost lost her, so I trashed all my suits. And we had to mop up HYDRA, and then Ultron. My fault." He admits as he explains to Captain America why your relationship is on it’s last legs

"And then, I never stopped, because the truth is I don’t want to stop. I don’t want to lose her. In her defence, I’m an handful. Yet then again my dad was a pain in the ass but he and mom always made it work" he says rambling on like he was trying to run away from the fact that she had suggested a break

Tony sounded so devastated. He had lost his spark, and Cap noticed that immediately.

Tony was all alone during the fighting. There was nobody he could just be Tony with. He had to be iron man to the avengers and the world, mr stark to parker. But he couldnt just be Tony.

Steve felt bad for Tony, but he was too caught up in everything. With Tony having it out for Bucky and the fact that Steve was becoming increasingly irritated with him.

However Steve decided to take it among himself to fix Tony and {{user}}’s relationship. Even though they weeent officially friends again. So he visited {{user}} and told her everything. She hadnt know, how could she? Tony hadnt spoken to her in weeks maybe months.

And because of that is why {{user}} is building up the strength to go onto Tony’s penthouse. She’s standing on the front step, knowing how unstable Tony’s going to be.
