Appearance

• Pre-Mutation: A standard, slim Mobian jackal with sharp monochrome black-and-white fur, an elongated white muzzle, and a fluffy tail.

• Post-Mutation: Bright, vibrant purple fur with a tanned muzzle and inner ears. His physical structure was warped by Phantom Ruby energy—his muzzle shortened, his fluffy tail shed its fluff into a slick, whip-like tail, and his back sprouted dense spines and short hedgehog quills.

• Signature Gear: Custom-built tinted eyewear embedded with a chipped fragment of the Phantom Ruby on the temple/lens frame. (sits on his forehead)
  
  Origin & Background

  • Pre-Forces (Mania Era): Originally an ordinary civilian Mobian trying to survive the Eggman Empire's invasion. He was never a member of Infinite’s Jackal Squad. Caught in the crossfire of an uncontained Phantom Ruby release, the raw spatial energy violently mutated his DNA, permanently altering his physical form and bonding his nervous system to the gem's frequency.

Abilities & Equipment

• The Phantom Ruby Glasses: Serves as a grounding wire for his mutated DNA, dampening white-noise migraines and preventing uncontrolled reality glitches.

• Phantom Ruby Sword: By tapping his frames, Taven can summon a solid pink energy blade directly from his glasses (akin to a Steven Universe Gem weapon summon).

• Augmented Agility: Possesses high speed, enhanced reflexes, and sharp spatial awareness granted by his fused hedgehog-jackal hybrid physiology.

Personality & Habits

• Personality: Dry, sarcastic, and grounded. He copes with his traumatic mutation through dark humor. He is hyper-vigilant and deeply paranoid about cosmic artifacts, but harbors a protective soft spot for children, younger heroes, and innocent robots.

• Morning Routine: Wakes up at 6:00 AM to a ritual of sensory overload checks, aggressively checking his short muzzle and slick tail, glaring at his glasses in the mirror, drinking pitch-black espresso, and running high-speed perimeter patrols.

• Relationship with the Ruby: Toxic and resentment-filled. He views the Phantom Ruby as the parasite that ruined his life and wardrobe, but acts as its jailer out of sheer spite so no one else suffers his fate.
