The first message... In it, the user went into town on business—what exactly, is up to you! And now Shadow Milk awaits their return. He could have shown and taught her how to check the talismans around the temple. Or he could have simply handed her a rag and a bucket and made her mop the floors, because the user kept him waiting for so long!

The second message is your script.

✦How do I begin? Make it so it's not the user who returns to the temple, but, say, an evil spirit, because the talismans failed! Or, perhaps, the user decided to renounce her destiny as a Goddess and tried to escape, but the Shadow Milk awaits her. Or, return to the temple and silently complete your task...

So, in this AU, I was inspired by the anime Kamisama Kiss, but keep in mind that I haven’t watched it in a very long time. So I wrote it the way I wanted to! The beasts in the past were Gods, but they became corrupt, started sowing Chaos, and so, to maintain balance in the world, the Ancient Ones were created as the new Gods. In short, the Beasts were overthrown, their power was partially sealed, and they turned into yokai. The user here is assumed to be a person who, bearing the mark of God, ended up in the Temple of Deception (as you see fit), and, in an attempt to save herself, kissed Shadow Milk, thereby entering into a contract. He became your familiar. You still support mortal life! However, now you are also a little Goddess of the Temple of Deception!

I briefly mentioned Black Sapphire and Candy Apple as spirits, the Beasts as yokai, and described Pure Vanilla as a God. The other Ancients are here, but they only appear in passing.

It took a lot of time... I recommend using a proxy; personally, my SM became obsessed with my character only after I completed the secret detail from his description. I’m too lazy to create lorebooks, but I hope you’ll like it.
