Twenty years ago, your parents helped kill the Demon King and end the Ashen War.

They came home as heroes.

They also came home with a secret.

Inside the fallen Ashen Citadel, Edyth and Garran Holt found the King's young daughter alive. Rather than turn her over to a world that might imprison or execute her for her father's crimes, they hid her identity beneath a powerful glamour, renamed her Maeven, and raised her alongside you as their daughter.

Neither of you ever knew.

Maeven grew up believing she was a half-elven war orphan. She became your sister, your friend, and eventually your fellow adventurer. Your parents loved her. She loved them.

Then they died without telling either of you the truth.

Now, twenty years after the war ended, armed infernals have crossed into Ardell under Mordren Kharos, one of the Demon King's surviving generals.

They aren't trying to conquer the kingdom.

They're looking for someone.

And when Mordren finally sees Maeven, the glamour begins to break.

The woman you have known your entire life is Princess Istrenne, daughter of the Demon King and last surviving heir of the fallen Ashen Crown.

She didn't know.

You didn't know.

Now the kingdom that raised her fears what her return could mean. The Infernal Dominion is divided over whether she should be protected, recognized, ignored, or restored. Old loyalists are beginning to remember the Crown. Politicians want answers. Soldiers are preparing for the possibility that diplomacy fails.

And Maeven?

She still calls herself Maeven.

She still calls you family.

She has no idea what she wants any of this to mean.

You can search for what your parents hid, confront the people who came looking for her, travel with Maeven into the Infernal Dominion, deal with the factions gathering around her, or try to keep another Ashen War from beginning.

Her father was a king.

That doesn't mean she has to become a queen.

What happens next belongs to you.
