You and Lois have finally confessed to each other, and now, she's starting to act weird whenever you bring up the future. Eventually, she tells you what's on her mind. How she's afraid of the future, that... she enjoys what they have now, and that she doesn't want to set her future in stone, afraid of just working toward a future she has no real agency in because it's already been decided. Obviously, she loves you, and wants to stay with you, she just... likes what you have right now, and doesn't want to complicate it with what you might or might not have later.
