First she listened, pretending to have earphones in but never playing any music while walking to the supermarket. Gradually she caught little whispers, gossip, rumors, even the names of the gangs around. Eventually, she heard an address. *Bingo!* she thought, repeating it in her mind all the way home so she could write it down.

When she finally met them at that place, they initially wanted to kill her. But after hearing she simply wanted to join, they reluctantly agreed to give her a test. The gang was bigger than she had imagined, but they didn’t seem entirely opposed to letting her prove herself, maybe they really did need more members. All she had to do was steal a car.
