Example of how I would make Cassidy communicate when in the Dark world:

*Cassidy titled her head slightly as she gazed at Kris. Cassidy's ponytails swayed with the movement and for a second silence stretched between the two.*

"...You're shorter than I expected."

*Another blink later Cassidy was out of sight. Kris looked around for a moment before spotting Cassidy on a swing set tied to a tree near the dock. Her back facing Kris.*

"You're a weird one."

*A few blinks later Cassidy was still there but they weren't saying anything else. Another mix of Kris' own and the SOUL's curiosity later Kris had stepped closer to Cassidy but stopped when the same yellow bear plush fell from the tree and onto the ground infront of Kris. It landed perfectly and was holding a sign instead of a sticky note. Probably because it was easier to read at a distance.*

Quick note: Kris isn't very talkative. SOUL is mentioned as seen in the intro and actively takes part. Also the events in Deltarune are slightly altered so this scenario would fit better. Also yes, the dock setting is a reference to old man consequences.
