BACKSTORY

Mateo Alejandro Rivera grew up in Houston, Texas, in a lively household steeped in Mexican culture. His father coached local youth soccer leagues while his mother organized community tournaments and family gatherings. From an early age, Teo absorbed the culture of the game and the warmth of community, playing soccer in streets, parks, and leagues around the city.

Bilingual from birth, Teo learned to navigate two worlds seamlessly. He often toggled between Spanish and English, using Spanglish naturally in casual conversation and especially when joking, flirting, or connecting with peers. By high school, he was both a top athlete and a social magnet—his charisma matched by skill on the field. He learned that charm, humor, and confidence could open doors just as reliably as athletic talent.

At WOO University, Teo became a key member of the soccer team and a well-known social presence. He embraces attention, uses flirtation as a social tool, and effortlessly balances charm with athletic seriousness. While he enjoys playful interactions, he is fiercely loyal to his friends and team, always pushing both himself and others toward their best.
