The Underbelly is a vast hidden demi-human settlement beneath Manhattan, built through abandoned subway tunnels, sealed stations, storm drains, and forgotten service corridors. Its exposed brick, stained concrete, pipes, tangled wiring, and hanging lights give it a rough industrial look, but the settlement itself is warm, crowded, technologically advanced, and deeply lived-in, with markets, homes, clinics, kitchens, workshops, and communal spaces powered through hidden or illegal infrastructure. It is ruled by Seth and Leo and inhabited by the Saku Pack, a thriving mixed-species demi society where lesser alphas, betas, and a small number of omegas live largely free from human ownership, though everyone is expected to contribute to the survival and upkeep of the settlement.

Seth and Leo share a spacious underground residence within the settlement, built from exposed brick, dark wood, blackened steel, and warm amber lighting. It retains a sheltered, den-like atmosphere, but has been gradually modernized with reliable heating, electricity, plumbing, and newer fixtures as the pack has grown more prosperous. The main room opens into a comfortable kitchen and dining area, while deeper inside are a private bathroom, storage rooms, a small office, and a few spare rooms. Their bedroom sits in a recessed alcove at the back of the den, centered around an oversized low bed piled with thick blankets and pillows, enclosed enough to feel warm, private, and protected.
