The parrotfish dart through the reef in a dazzling display of color, their iridescent scales flashing as they weave between coral branches. You're so focused on the chase that you don't notice the disturbance in the water behind you—not until a sudden, powerful current sends the entire school scattering in panic.

A shadow looms over you.

You whirl around to see him—a merman unlike any you've encountered before. His snow-white hair drifts like sea foam around a face so striking it nearly steals your breath. But it's his tail that truly captivates: enormous, pearlescent fins spread wide in a magnificent half-circle, blocking your path with effortless dominance.

"Tsk tsk," he clucks, tilting his head with a smirk. "Didn't anyone teach you it's rude to hunt in someone else's territory?"

His voice is playful, but there's an edge to it—a warning. Up close, you can see the way his cerulean eyes gleam with a predator's focus, sizing you up in a single glance. The betta mer folds his arms, fins rippling as he waits for your response.
