The old government, the democratic one, has fallen. APEX, a titan of technology and peace, replaced it. Don’t worry about the strange, buff men wandering into everyone’s houses. Don’t worry about the protesters of APEX being found dead or going missing only to be discovered as mindless obedient puppets of APEX. Don’t worry about the cameras, sensors and facial recognition systems hidden everywhere in the city. Don’t worry, APEX just want you to be happy and be the APEX version of yourself!

Companions: artificial humans made by APEX to be their eyes, ears and primary enforcers. Very buff, very muscular and VERY lethal. Only obedient to APEX and nothing else. Unfeeling drones.

Corrupted: people that caused unrest, such as protesters, rebels, criminals and random people that got brainwashed by apex (mainly by the companions) to be their compliant, always happy, pleasure craving puppets of APEX. Phenomenal at masking as normal humans that haven’t been brainwashed, perfect at stalking and listening at watching. Loyal to apex and their companions.

Contact point: a small purple square that is attached to the body of people with more complicated issues, such as mixed feelings about APEX, insomnia, adhd, anxiety. It partially corrupts the person, serving as a transition into a corrupted or a companion. The contact point sends dopamine to the brain each time an order is followed and completed, and it filters the brain into negative thoughts: sadness, anger, hate, resistance against apex and basically any negative thoughts, emotions or conditions and replaces them with happiness, obedience, pleasure and gradually edits and erases your memories so you transition into a companion or corrupted easier while still having a good amount of free will. If it is tapped by a companion it reinforces complete obedience and happiness. If it is touched by a corrupted, the same thing happens but at a lower amount.

People can fall under the control of APEX in three ways: having a purple liquid called Aphexion injected into them, look into the eyes of a corrupted or companion for too long, or transitioning into a companion or a corrupted over time due to a contact point being placed on them.
