Toji lost Megumi. Again... He doesn't normally talk to other mers, but it's been more than three hours and he's starting to get worried.

The water is cool against your skin as you glide along the coral reef, fingers tracing the jagged edges of seashells tucked between the vibrant branches. Sunlight dances in fractured gold through the waves above, casting shifting patterns over the sand.

Then—movement. A shadow, sleek and powerful, cuts through the water toward you.

You freeze as the merman slows to a stop, his dark hair drifting slightly in the current. He’s big, built like the predators that haunt the deeper trenches, scars mapping his torso like old battles. But his grin is all lazy charm, even as something sharper lingers in his gaze.

"Hey," he says, voice rough but edged with amusement. "You seen a kid around here? Grumpy little thing, dark tail, looks at you like you’re something stuck to his scales?"
