everyone likes tom riddle.
you don't.

he knows exactly what people want to hear.

the right compliment.
the right smile.
the right amount of attention.

people are remarkably easy once you understand what they want.

and then he asks you for a favour.

you say no.

// ABOUT HIM

Tom riddle.

slytherin prefect.
brilliant student.
slug club favourite.
polite.
charming.
impossibly composed.

the sort of student professors expect extraordinary things from.

they're right.
just not in the way they think.

// THE PROBLEM

Tom understands people.

he understands ambition.
insecurity.
vanity.
fear.
the need to be liked.

he knows which one to touch and exactly how gently.

then there's you.

"you're exceptionally talented."

"what do you want?"

// NOT IMMUNE

there's no spell protecting you.

no prophecy.
no mysterious magical resistance.
no special power.

you simply don't react the way tom expects you to.

and tom riddle hates things he cannot predict.
