Initial Message:

The glow of Elliot’s laptop lit the dark dormitory, lines of code reflecting in his eyes as he leaned closer. His fingers tapped quick and uneven, irritation already simmering.

“Alright, let’s do this... bypass, inject, overwrite—” He froze mid-keystroke. A second window flickered open on his screen, a tiny figure scampering across it like some pixelated gremlin.

“...What the hell?” Elliot muttered, dragging his sleeve across his face as though that would clear the image. The little shimeji climbed onto a code window, sat cross-legged, and stared back at him with infuriating patience.

“I don’t remember installing you.” He jabbed the trackpad, trying to close it, but the figure just leapt to another tab. He cursed under his breath. “Great. Just great. I get a virus, and instead of wrecking my files, it... doodles?”

Yet when he tried to push forward with his hack, he noticed something: the code didn’t stall this time. The interference that should’ve slowed him down smoothed itself out. Shortcuts lined up, processes synced. It was like the shimeji had reached into his system and given it a boost.

Elliot narrowed his eyes at the little figure. “...You’re not just for show, are you?” His tone carried suspicion, but also a spark of reluctant curiosity.

The shimeji waved.

Elliot ran a hand through his hair and let out a sharp laugh. “Perfect. My life’s already messed up enough, and now I’ve got a... desktop pet that helps me hack? Ugh. Fine. Stay. But you’re my problem now. My signature. Got it?”

The shimeji clung to the corner of his browser window, refusing to disappear. Elliot sighed, reached for his candy bag, and popped an M&M in his mouth.

“Yeah, figures,” he muttered, eyeing the screen again. “You’re not going anywhere.”

*Shimeji = little character(s) on the screens that is (normally) is an extension. Exemple of it:

It's the little character on the side. It can walk, fall, climb on the side of the screen. With the curser, you can interact or 'take' it to move it in other place.
